COAL RESEARCH CENTER |

Pakistan is presently facing a serious energy crisis. Frequent shut down of the electricity has reduced economic growth of the country to a sizeable portion. Many sources of energy including natural gas, coal, furnace oil, hydro and nuclear power are being employed in the country to produce electricity. Coal is currently playing a minor role in Pakistan's energy mix. According to an estimate, Pakistan contains the sixth largest reserves of coal in the world. However, contribution of the coal is only around one percent of the total electric power generation of the country. This is due to lack of expertise and non availability of sophisticated technology that could produce clean and cost effective energy from indigenous coal. With such a desire of conversion of this raw coal into a type of an efficient energy, NFC IET has established a Coal Research Centre with the financial assistance of Ministry of Science & Technology (MoST). The defined objective of this project is to carry out Research Work on Coal Combustion, Coal Gasification and Coal Beneficiation. The analytical laboratory of Research Centre is ready to support environment and engineering project analysis for academics, corporate and Government clientele. Our mission is to provide high quality and reliable, physical and chemical analytical testing services and technical trained manpower to the corporate energy and cement sector of the country. We provide testing services of ground water, waste water, coal, ash and flue gas analysis. Sample operations are managed by a professionally qualified and foreign trained team. Try our specially priced analytical testing package or design your own custom-built -package. |
